4 reasons to get rid of your scale

Can you remember a moment when you step off your scale with 100% confidence and felt great? You don't, right? Me neither. If you are at the start of your weight loss journey, this scale can be a real source of frustration. Either the weight is too much, which makes us depressed, or otherwise, it shows no effect after weeks of effort.

After so much depression, it gave us a special place in our rooms and weighed us repeatedly. Not to mention the space it is taking in your head. There is a long list of reasons to get rid of the weight scales from your bathroom. In this article, I have mentioned 4 of them to help you decide. Healthily losing weight should be due to a healthy lifestyle and physical activity instead of the obsession with numbers.

  1.     Your weight doesn’t tell about your figure

Your weight scale gives you a number with a sinking feeling. But this number doesn’t indicate your figure as it knows nothing about your body type. Your body comprises muscles, water, and bones, not just fat. Of course, all of these things have their weight. The thing that matters is the proportion of these things.

If you are going for strength training for weight loss, you will see these numbers going up. At the same time, beginners will also shed body fat.

  1.     Scales don’t evaluate your lifestyle

The sudden increase in weight can make you disappointed in your efforts. But the fact is minor fluctuations in weight are entirely normal. Several factors affect your weight and are out of your control. The problem is that your scale doesn’t note such things.

The menstruation cycle is an ideal example. Studies prove that our body stores more energy during ovulation and prepares it for a potential pregnancy. During and before the period, the hormones store more energy and hang onto more water. These changes lead to a strong impact on numbers. Do you let these hormones bring down your mood? You don’t, right? Then, it’s time to get rid of your scale.

  1.     Scales make you doubt your fitness regime

Your scale doesn’t say anything about your fitness or current health. Have you leveled up your training and currently getting closer to your goal, but your scale doesn’t show any change? Weighing yourself isn’t the right option in such situations. You should proudly focus on your sporting skills rather than marking your success with your weight scale number.

  1.     Your scale is stressing you out

The only thing your scale is boosting is your stress levels. Obsessively keeping track of your weight won’t help you with weight loss or fitness. It’s a significant hindrance to your goal. The stress it gives you elevates the cortisol levels in your body and prevents it from losing fat. It’s a vicious circle and another reason to bid farewell to your scales.

Instead of using a scale, there are many other ways to keep track of your fitness more healthily, like taking photos, precise measurements, looking at the changes in your clothing fitting, and still many other ways to track your success.
